PERSONAL INJURY

When you or someone you love has been injured due to the fault or negligence of somebody else, the injured person may have a claim against the person that injured them.   This type of claim is considered a personal injury claim. Personal Injury is a general term that includes such specific claims as injuries resulting from the following:

      -                     Automobile Accidents

-                     Accidents involving Tractor-Trailers

-                     Dog Attacks or Bites

-                     Workers’ Compensation

-                     Slipping or Falling on the Property of Another

-                     Defective or Unsafe Product

Just as each of these types of injuries are different, the law for recovery is also different.  Further, the time deadlines for filing claims, the procedures for filing claims, as well as the medical treatment available all vary depending upon the type or cause of the injury.  We are experienced in all of these areas and can answer all your questions and address all of your concerns when it comes to personal injuries.  If you or a loved one has suffered a personal injury as a result of the negligence of someone else or on the job, call to speak with one of our attorneys today.

AUTO ACCIDENTS

Automobile accidents are very common on Georgia’s highways, we see them everyday on the side of the road or highway, but if you are unfortunate enough to be injured in an automobile accident, you will soon find out that the process can be very complex, confusing and frustrating.

Immediately after the accident, an injured person is required to make many decisions in a very small amount of time.  At Davis Desautel Law Group, our experienced attorneys can help injured drivers or passengers with these confusing and painful issues.  Questions such as:

-                     Who will pay for the damage to my vehicle?

-                     Will I be able to have a rental car, and who will pay for it?

-                     Where should I go for quality medical care?

-                     Who will pay for my medical bills?

-                     Should I use my personal health insurance to pay the doctors?

-                     Should I talk to witnesses about the wreck?

-                     Should I take photos of my car and/or my injuries?

-                     Should I give a statement to the insurance company?

-                     Do I need to show up to traffic court as a witness?

-                     Will there be enough insurance coverage to pay for my medical bills?

-                     Can I trust the insurance company?

-                     I was hit by an unknown driver, how can I recover?

-                     My health insurance company says I need to reimburse them from my settlement, is that true?

The attorneys at Davis Desautel can help answer these questions and any others you might have.  Call to speak directly with one of our attorneys today at (678) 352-9260 or e-mail us at inquires@ddlawgroup.com.

TRUCK ACCIDENTS

Accidents involving semi-trucks or tractor-trailer trucks are a different type of automobile accident.  Given the size and weight of these trucks, the injuries that occur from them are typically more severe.  Our clients who are injured in wrecks with semi-trucks are usually severely injured and their vehicles are typically total losses.  In addition to the significant injuries, the law applying to semi-trucks is different than the law for non-commercial automobiles.

Generally, commercial trucks are subject to the laws of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act which applies to commercial trucks engaged in transportation of goods between states.  The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act requires drivers to be medically qualified and limits the amount of hours drivers can drive during a day and week.  Further, companies that engage in interstate transportation are required to carry specific insurance coverage.

At Davis Desautel Law Group, our attorneys are experienced in handling cases involving commercial trucks and commercial trucking companies.  Call to speak directly with one of our attorneys today at (678) 352-9260 or e-mail us at inquires@ddlawgroup.com.
