David Mayer, a partner with Dvorak Law Group in our business counsel practice area, recently traveled to China with Governor Pete Ricketts as a member of the Governer’s 2016 trade mission delegation. Over the past several years, economic relationships and ties between the State of Nebraska and mainland China have increased dramatically.
The trade mission lasted eight days, during which David traveled with fellow delegates to Yangling, Xi’an, and Shanghai, China and participated in meetings with government officials and events and meetings with local business people. Activities in Yangling included a groundbreaking ceremony of China-US Agriculture Sci-Tech Park, a visit to the Kingbull Cattle Company, a meeting with President Sun of NWAFU and a roundtable discussion with NWAFU and UNL.
Activities in Xi’an included meetings with the Head of Shaanxi Department of Commerce & Friendship Association and the Head of the Shaanxi Department of Agriculture. Activities in Shanghai included an “Invest in Nebraska Promotional Event” wherein several fellow delegates presented regarding opportunities for business in the State of Nebraska. The Governor and delegates toured several factories while in Shanghai.
David was honored to be invited as a member of Governor Ricketts’ official trade mission delegation. The trade mission provided a valuable opportunity for Dvorak Law Group to build relationships and enhance our knowledge of the business climate in China that will no doubt be helpful for Dvorak Law Group’s U.S.-based clients.
