Jeffrey J. Blumel
LITIGATION AND TRIAL PRACTICE
Jeff Blumel focuses his practice primarily on civil litigation. He represents and advises businesses and individuals in commercial transaction disputes, including contract disputes, employment matters, construction issues, trade secret and fiduciary duty matters, real estate disputes, and other business matters as well as Certificate of Tax Sale foreclosures. He has extensive experience representing political subdivisions, governmental entities, the local transit authority, and other businesses in insurance defense litigation such as negligence and tort claims, workers’ compensation matters, and collection of subrogation interests. He also counsels and assists clients with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate and represents clients in disputes and litigation concerning wills and trusts.
Jeff represents his clients in both state and federal courts, the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court, and before administrative agencies, local boards and councils. He has also represented many clients in the appellate process before the Nebraska Supreme Court and Nebraska Court of Appeals, and is experienced in handling matters through alternative dispute resolution.
Jeff received his B.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law (1989). Jeff is admitted to practice law in Nebraska and Kentucky.
He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Kentucky State Bar Association. He also volunteers as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mid-America Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as Advocate for Knights of Columbus Council #10108. Jeff is an alumnus of Leadership Omaha Class 27.
